April 14, 2007 - J'adore la Mode fashion show featured garments with shirred chiffon, silk charmeuse, and assorted hue's for this spring's feminine wear.

Purdue University's Apparel and Design Technology students each showcased their designs that perfectly sheathe the ideal figure with voluminous silhouettes that has exaggerated collars, bubble skirts and baby doll dresses. This cabaret formatted a nostalgic edge on retro 40's pinup girl style with inspiration from the sophisticated woman that craves to be young to patchwork couture.

The runway surged with high-waisted stewardess-like pencil skirts, iridescent sundresses, and frolic pleats. Such designers like freshman Sophia Dunseath, created a cream colored sleeveless shirt with a cowl neckline with high-waisted peach and grey peg skirt with a pleated waistband. Sophomore Lally Sothmann, created a green, knee length fitted dress with two thin straps, embroidered side buttons for closure, and a russet twofold strap belt at the waist.

Models sauntered modishly down the runway, with a live DJ blending an array of music from house to techno.

The night ended with a flourish of senior collections from Diana Aveline's “Torrid Lady” for the beautifully plus-sized women, Jess Hanebutt's “1940's sailor gal travels to New Mexico via route 66”, Maci Hosler's ballet inspired bridal wear, Kate Maci's “Pirate Royale” and Michelle Murbach's “Sicilian elegance, based on simple silhouette full of sophistication and luxury.”
