Arlene, Daryla and myself became Three Purls Knitwear and set out to “make a difference with every stitch.” We first created beautiful breast cancer awareness sweaters with the pink ribbon emblem subtly purled in the sweater to give it an embossed look. Women love the fact that Three Purls makes a donation from every pink ribbon sale to breast cancer research.

Women also like that these sweaters are so versatile: “Kim did such a great job creating pink ribbon wear that can be worn at home, to the office or even on the golf course. She has made it possible to show your support for the cause while still being fashionable!” says Darla Schild, Kim's partner.

Sorority women on campuses from the Pacific Northwest to the Southwest love the up-to-date designs. Wearing their Greek letters used to mean just wearing a t-shirt or a sweatshirt. Not anymore, Three Purls offers long v-necks, short puff sleeves and even scarves with sorority letters purled into the apparel. Always keeping an eye out for what sorority girls want next, I am already planning a spring sweater line.

Three Purls Knitwear is based in Bellevue, Washington (a suburb of Seattle), but I work out of my home office in West Lafayette, IN. I like being the satellite office because I am right here at Purdue. It gives me a good feel for what girls are wearing on campus which helps us keep moving forward. She adds, “We conference formally once a week, and Darla and I talk about company strategy and updates almost every day. We three “purls” make a great team!” Visit our website at www.three-purls.com.
